Whether you’re looking for those traditional varieties or that rare and unusual plant, the Annuals Department at Mettowee Mill Nursery offers a wide-ranging selection of vigorous annuals, accent plants, herbs, and vegetables.   

The majority of our annuals are grown on-site in our nursery greenhouses under the watchful eye of our experienced growers.  This year, due to constant requests from our customers, our Annuals Department greatly expanded their greenhouse production of the popular Proven Winner, Proven Selection,  A Cut Above and Garden Designs plants. The Proven Winners brand is known for its reliable annuals of superior quality, thus providing our customers with colorful and exciting options for their garden, planters, or hanging baskets.  Here at the nursery we believe in the Proven Winners slogan: “A better garden starts with a better plant.”

If you’re looking for potted herbs to enhance your culinary talents or for simply enjoying the fragrance, color, and texture of herbs in the garden, once again our nursery is offering herbs and heirloom vegetables from Gilbertie’s Herbs. This 85 year old, Connecticut-based company provides our nursery with high quality potted herbs.  Additionally, Gilbertie’s Herbs  also supplies our nursery with an array of Heirloom Tomatoes and Old World Vegetables for those customers who enjoy growing these flavorful varieties. All plants from Gilbertie’s Herbs are organically grown and naturally fertilized.
