Donna

Office Manager and Garden Maintenance Manager
Donna Andersen has been with Mettowee for 19 years. Donna started in the perennial department growing our perennials, then onto designing gardens, consultations and maintaining landscapes. Her experience and talents gave her the tools necessary to assist Lee and Steve by helping with public relations and marketing. With all she does she still finds time to dig in the Mettowee gardens, which she loves.

Tina

Retail Shop & General Manager
Landscape designer and horticulturalist, Tina Cohen, has “worn many hats” over the years here at the nursery, most recently as the Perennial Department Manager for the 2007 Season and before that, the nursery’s Landscape Designer and Installation Consultant. In late 2007 she was offered two other hats to try on for size. With her extensive training and background in nursery management and horticulture, she’s well qualified to oversee the company’s operations as well as manage the day-to-day business of the retail shop and greenhouses.

Lindy

Retail Shop Assistant Manager & Merchandiser
With her background in fine art, Lindy Bowden, now in her 2nd year with the company, is the multi-tasking Assistant Manager in the Retail Department. Working with the manager, she helps search for, and select, all the unique home and garden items seen in the shop. Lindy can be found helping our customers in and around the retail shop with anything from answering your questions over the telephone, choosing annual plants for a customer’s spirited window box display, discussing a special order request, or advising someone on a holiday design or display. Stop in to visit with her and see our recent arrivals for home and garden in our retail shop.

Perry

Landscape Designer / Consultant
An accomplished designer, Perry Couseau has extensive experience in all phases of landscape architecture. Before joining us at Mettowee Mill Nursery in 2007, he managed his own landscape design and construction company located in North Carolina. Prior to this he served as the superintendent of gardens for several historic Newport, RI estates. Perry applies his passion for the natural environment by providing our customers with site-sensitive design solutions using natural, regional plants and materials to create sustainable gardens with a sense of balance and beauty.

Garden Maintenance Department
The nursery’s two Garden Maintenance crews, led by Donna Andersen and Stephanie Frederick, are “on the road” from early spring to late fall, assuring that our clients’ residential gardens are well-tended throughout the season. During weekly visits to each property, our capable maintenance staff provides a variety of services: planting annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, and bulbs, designing planters and window boxes, watering and fertilizing, pruning shrubbery, dealing organically with soil amendments and potential garden pests, and keeping all beds tidy. This group of “gardening enthusiasts” ensures that every client’s garden is protected and nurtured to ensure its continued health and beauty.

Annual Department Manager
Now in his 6th season with Mettowee Mill Nursery, Dave Johnson is a familiar face in the Annuals Department. As the new manager of this department, Dave has the experience and knowledge for growing beautiful, healthy annual plants. Stop by this department for colorful annuals, vegetables, and herbs. Dave and his staff are looking forward to another great gardening season.

Robin Chandler
You will never find a friendlier, more knowledgeable person to answer all your questions! You will be able to find Robin Chandler for her 21th season here at Mettowee as a part time sales person. Robin is also a Vermont Certified Horticulturists. |

Brian

Nursery Manager
Our Nursery Manager, Brian King, can’t remember not being involved with plants in some way or another, starting long ago as a youngster helping his grandmother with her vegetable garden. A certified horticulturist, Brian’s extensive experience includes work in nursery management and plant propagation with several Massachusetts nurseries, as well as volunteer work at the Arnold Arboretum and The Victory Garden. He has a special passion for dwarf conifers and roses. Stop by for a walk through the nursery. Brian and his staff look forward to helping you find the perfect tree, ornamental shrub, or fruit tree from our nursery for enhancing your property and providing you with years of pleasure.

Darren |
Perennial Department Manager
For many of our customers, his face has been a familiar one for several years in our Annuals Department. However, this season (his 9th with the nursery) Darren Godette has stepped up to manage the Perennials Department. Darren encourages our customers to contact him or his staff concerning special order requests for perennials they yearn to plant in their gardens.

Kevin

Landscape Department
Kevin Miller has been Mettowee's landscape foreman for 20 years. He has extensive landscaping experience and specializes in fieldstone walls and walkways, low voltage lighting and unique water feature installations. He is also happy to help you winterize your trees and shrubs. He and his crew are sure to please you!
