Some of the New Perennials for 2008 at Mettowee Mill Nursery
Roses
Roses are an essential part of any landscape. These versatile plants can be used in containers, to climb up a wall or trellis or to create a hedge. They are a wonderful accent in a perennial border. Every year, new varieties are introduced that are hardier than roses of the past. It is our goal to provide our customers with the best roses for our climate. In addition to our favorite Explorer series climbers and David Austin English roses, we recommend the Knockout series. These resilient shrub roses bloom profusely and their hardiness makes them a good choice for our unperdictable winters.
The following roses are new varieties that we are proud to offer:
Easy Elegance Roses
These new roses were created from the Bailey Nursery rose breeding program. They are grown on their own root (not grafted) to ensure hardiness.
Their disease resistance and ever blooming quality makes them a great choice for any garden. We are offering three series of these roses this year:
Garden Art Series (combines the bloom of a hybrid Tea with the hardiness of the Easy Elegance)
Garden Bench Series (smaller, low growing plants for use in small spaces or along walkways)
Garden Wall Series (hardy climbing roses)
Courtyard Roses
These climbing roses are known for their hardiness and disease resistance. The plants are profuse bloomers that form buds from the ground up.
Renaissance Roses
A new class of Poulsen roses that combines fragrance, double repeat blooms, and disease resistance.
